New Range of Base-Mounted Flame Detectors

Apollo Fire Detectors Ltd. is bringing a range of eight new base-mounted flame detectors to the market, combining high performance with a compact design into a unit suitable for most land-based and marine applications. The devices’ Class 1 performance allows them to quickly detect 0.1m2 flames at a distance of 25m (EN54-10), and they can rapidly detect all types of flames – including those from a hydrogen source, which are invisible to the both the naked eye and some alternative flame detection systems.

New Mains Switching Input/Output Unit For DIN-Rail Mounting

Apollo's new mains switching input/output unit, designed for mounting on a DIN-rail, provides a voltage-free, single pole change-over relay output with a contact rating of 250V AC @ 5Amp and 48V DC @ 2Amp. It also has a monitored switch input that is designed to supervise one or more normally-open switches connected to a single-pair of cables.

Apollo Launches EN54 Compliant Manual Call Point

Apollo Fire Detectors has launched a new version of its XP95 and Discovery Manual Call Points which comply with EN54-11:2001. The new call point has a re-settable element for fast testing and re-setting of the device, with a single tool for both testing and re-setting. It also has 'plug and play'; terminal blocks for fast wiring.

Combined Sounder, Beacon And Isolator In One Unit

Apollo's new Sounder Beacon Base combines an integrated base sounder, loop-powered beacon and isolator in one unit. A smoke or heat detector would normally be fitted to the base, but red and white caps can be used instead to enable operation as a stand-alone sounder/beacon. A version of the base without an isolator is also available.

New Integrated Base Sounder Speeds Up Installation

Apollo has introduced an Integrated Base Sounder to its range of loop-powered sounder products. By combining a detector mounting base and sounder in a single moulded unit, the new device simplifies and speeds up installation. The Integrated Base Sounder offers two tone ranges: the low range of 55-75dB is designed, for example, as a staff warning alarm in areas such as hospitals and nursing homes. The high range of 75-91dB complies with EN54-3 requirements for fire detection and alarm systems and is for general use.

Apollo's Orbis range achieves marine approval under new harmonised EU standard

Apollo Fire Detectors Limited has received confirmation that Orbis, its new generation of conventional fire detectors, has been certified under the Marine Equipment Directive (MED). The Marine Equipment Directive came into force in 1999 and is intended to enhance safety at sea by harmonising the application of international safety standards for marine equipment across the European Community.
